Hi all, this special edition of the newsletter is going to be short and sweet. I’m going to focus on helping you get up to speed on the Web 3.0 world, which is coming faster than you think.

First, in this week’s episode of Ventures, my guest Andrew Cronk (Co-founder and Chief Product Officer at https://figment.io/) and I discuss Web 3 and blockchains beyond price hysteria, energy-usage debates, and influencer shenanigans. While everyone has been distracted by current events, the Web 3 builders continue to push the technology forward in a way that is genuinely compelling for our future. We talk about Proof-of-Stake, building a Web 3 developer community, technologies that exist today for decentralized apps, NFTs, Helium Network, what the rest of this year looks like for Figment, and much, much more.

Web 3.0 news & resources

Beyond the major blockchain news outlets out there, which tend to focus on price fluctuations, energy consumption debates, or what the latest “influencer” is hyping, there are a few places I’d recommend you check out.

First, I’m biased because I’m an investor in Figment, but check out their weekly and monthly digest here. Figment is a leading blockchain infrastructure provider and, after you listen to the podcast above (and ep2 and ep19 of the show), you’ll see why their content is worth following.

Second, I continue to be impressed with the Staking Economy newsletter, which is written by Felix Lutsch from Chorus One with contributions by Chris Remus (Chainflow), and Robert Dörzbach (Staking Facilities).

Third, good ol’ crypto twitter, but not where all the hype is. Instead, a good place to follow is this Twitter query on Web 3.0, since as of this writing, at least for the feed that twitter shows me, there isn’t a lot of noise from the pump/dump/influencer folks. Instead, there’s actually some really great conversations going on that I appreciate.

Have a great rest of your week!
