Greetings all,
In this week’s episode of Ventures, I (https://www.linkedin.com/in/wclittle/) recorded a short monologue that describes why my partners and I at Prota Ventures are gathering a cohort of Web 3 product-managers-in-training to rapidly get up to speed on Web 3 patterns, tools, technologies, and networks.
Check it out: Want to learn how to be a Web 3 product manager? Let’s talk.
For more information and background listening/reading about the vision and mission of the training, visit https://satchel.works/@wclittle/blockchains.
To apply (it’s free), please feel free to contact me directly at will@wclittle.com. Thanks!
What is a Web 3 Product Manager?
As I talk about briefly in today’s episode, Web 3 is a combination of the Metaverse, Blockchains, the Semantic Web, and decentralized governance and ownership.
A Web 3 “product” manager (more than just a “project” manager) is someone who can act as a liaison between business investors/leaders/stakeholders AND Web 3 designers/engineers to bring a decentralized application (dApp), a new blockchain, and/or a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) to life.
My partners and I at Prota have had a significant uptick in the number of web 3-related new ventures come across our desk recently, and a key bottleneck that these entrepreneurs have is someone who can help them navigate the various tools, patterns, chains, technologies, economics, and politics of the modern Web 3 world.
Thus, we’re assembling a cohort of experienced product managers (from a variety of backgrounds) and helping them get up to speed on the right things within Web 3 to be able to quickly add value to projects.
Importantly, it is not expected that these Web 3 PMs will be able to write smart contracts or understand deep technical nuances of, for example, the code behind building on Ethereum vs. Solana vs. Cosmos. However, these Web 3 PMs will know how to design products on the appropriate chains and then hire/manage developers to bring decentralized products/services to life.
If you or someone you know would qualify to be part of this alpha cohort, please let me know (email is great).
Have a great rest of your week!
