What A Leader Craves is....
FREE workshop March 28th workshop on Transformative Delegation
What A Leader Craves
What do you crave as a leader? At the source, is it TIME? Everyone longs for more of it.
- Time to accomplish your goals.
- Time to spend with your family and friends.
- Time to invest in making an impact in your community.
- Time to develop your employees.
- Time to train your organization in best practices.
- Time for personal growth and development.
- Time for self-care to be the best version of YOU.
- Time to create space to think of the big picture.
- Time to make a list of all the things you don’t have time to prioritize!
Ironically, we crave more time so that we can enjoy what we truly want and desire. And no one seems to have enough of it. Time is the great equalizer. EVERY human has the same 24 hours in a day, but starting with me I feel I need more to do more.
What is the number one excuse given for not reaching goals?
Yep, TIME. One might think the answer would be money, but what do people spend that money on… TIME. Take a moment and consider how you feel when someone fails your expectations or does not achieve their goals and when questioned their response is, “I just didn’t have enough time.”
Maybe you hear the excuse at home, “We are too busy. We have too much on our plate, etc” This always infuriates me because I have to agree we are, but I then question the priorities of our family. I am guilty and also part of the problem at Shandel Group. I can’t solve the source of problems, because I need TIME to think, to dedicate, to see the big picture and that takes space and time. ARE YOU WITH ME?
What is the solution? For sure, there is not a cookie-cutter solution as each of us has our own issues to solve, which usually involve a deep dive into our fears and our deep-rooted belief systems. However, we want to offer a few practical solutions to help clear the clutter of your brain to create space to gain more time. The truth is you have to invest a little time to get more intentional about time. What we, at Shandel Group, espouse is time mastery where you learn both the art of delegation and the action of balancing your life. It is all based on living your values and prioritizing your time around what matters most to you and what you are uniquely gifted to do. To do that we need to help you create more time and that is where we come in.
Delegation is the lowest-hanging fruit for a leader to create more time. As much as you think you delegate there is more to let go of. The problem is that most of us don’t know or are too underwater to remember how to delegate effectively. Melanie Montgomery suggested this as a subject for our Lead For Clarity podcast. We quickly found we needed to do more than talk about it, we needed, we wanted to offer a FREE webinar to our clients which is this Thursday, March 28th. Here is the link to sign up and again it is a gift to you as a subscriber to this newsletter.
We will talk about practical steps of empowerment as well as digging into the following 5 levels for effective delegation. Each has specific actions that must be completed before moving on to the next step. Do you know what milestone your delegatee needs to achieve to level up?
Level 1: I Do. You Watch. We Talk.
Level 2: I Do. You Help. We Talk.
Level 3: You Do. I Help. We Talk.
Level 4: You Do. I Watch. We Talk.
Level 5: You Do. I Thank You.
If you are one of the elites who have mastered delegation and yet still have that craving for more time so you can have your true desires fulfilled, our 1:1 Coaching might be your next step to investigate living your best life. We just want to help leaders reach their next level in all areas of life by providing clarity to focus on what matters most.
