Welcome to my newsletter!
Hello you! I hope all is well.
I’ve decided to join a new publishing platform called Satchel that was developed by my friend Will Little. This platform will allow me to send (and you to receive) an email newsletter that I send out on a weekly basis (that is my public commitment). You are receiving this because we have exchanged email communications before, so if you do not want regular communication from me in the form of a newsletter, then please click the unsubscribe link below (and NO hard feelings). Although a very small way you can return a favor to me is by not unsubscribing (just for technical reasons) and bearing with me in love if you can find it in your heart to do so ;)
But before you make a decision either way, I would like to let you know why I am doing this and how it might be fruitful for you…
Most of you know me well, but some of you might benefit from an update with a little quick bio.
I am first and foremost a follower of Jesus Christ. I recently described myself to someone as a “gnarly middle-aged saint who is still coming to understand the love and grace and goodness of God towards me.” I’m on a journey of faith with Jesus and what that means to me is that he is continually forming me into his own image and conforming my worldview and actions to his own (and when those are out of sync, I rely on his grace to lead me to change my mind).
I am also a husband to my wife Jenny for now 20 years and I have parented my four children with her for a cumulative parenting total of 60 years!
I’ve been self-employed for 18 years and currently own two window cleaning businesses in Chicago and am starting a third business called VitVox.
The topics that I will be sharing with you in the newsletter will mostly be about faith in Jesus and his people’s work in the world. That is my passion and what has dominated my thoughts over the past three years and where I feel God is leading me with VitVox and how I hope to encourage you. But I will also be writing generally about Jesus, faith, business, family, and more.
My hope is to take you on a journey with me with this newsletter as I explore the ideas through a worldview that believes Jesus is Lord and he was raised from the dead. I also invite you for your help in the form of reading this newsletter and bouncing back any thoughts, questions, or concerns (no complaints or gripes though) to help shape my thinking.
I thank you for your time and am grateful that you’ve read this far. In the next newsletter I will explain VitVox to you in greater detail.
Let your light shine,
Scott Baermann
